SHRM is dedicated to advancing the human resource profession. Nowhere is this better exemplified than working with students to enhance their education about human resources. To meet this mission, SHRM must “excite people to choose HR as a profession” and “improve the image of HR and the HR professional and the role they play in organizational strategy”. Big Bend SHRM fully supports this mission and continually works to support its local student chapters.
Big Bend SHRM works to have students from the local colleges and universities as members. Although we do not require student members to be members of an affiliated SHRM Student Chapter, we do require them to be members of SHRM. Once members, students are invited to and encouraged to attend our monthly membership meetings. Click here to view SHRM student membership benefits and apply online. Local benefits include networking with HR professionals in the surrounding area, the ability to distribute resumes, access to HR professionals as resources and speakers and much more.
Big Bend SHRM currently provides support to one local SHRM Student Chapter at the Florida State University College of Business. Visit them online here.
