Join us for our August membership meeting, “Make Learning a Meaningful part of Your Business Strategy”, presented by Barry Altlandon Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 11:30am - 1pm at the Capital City Country Club.

We are in the midst of an evolution.  Maybe it’s a revolution.  Training is no longer just training in the organizations we support.  Or, at least it shouldn’t be. It is talent development.  It is so much more.  Or, it can be. In this engaging, interactive session, explore with peers the who, what, where, when, how and why of embedding talent development in your organization at both a strategic and tactical level.  Discover several key elements human resource leaders may embrace to support elevating the talent development function, thereby making an even greater impact upon the businesses we serve!

New ways of doing business in the twenty-first century are bringing about new ways of supporting people who make real business happen.  And it may not be in the ways you assume.

Warning:  This session may challenge the traditional ways of viewing training as a function that serves your organization’s performance. Human resource leaders can make the difference in their organizations getting there.  Today.  This shift begins with knowing the direction, considering its value, and actively choosing it.

As a result of their engagement in the lunch program, participants will be able to:

  • More deeply understand why talent development exists within an organization, and the business outcomes it should be designed to achieve
  • Embrace and move toward what function talent development should truly play in the organization’s success equation
  • Examine who are the right players needed on the team to support strategic talent development
  • Dissect how effective learning for adult learners is executed across the organization, and apply The Learner
  • Engagement Model as a guide when designing and facilitating learning
  • Determine the most effective strategy for where learning and talent development should occur within the organization
  • Choose when their organization is ready to shift to positioning talent development more strategically
