Each semester Big Bend SHRM hosts a Certification Study group to help members reach their goals of becoming SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certified.

This group combines the leadership of an experienced facilitator with the learning modules and online study tools of the 2019 SHRM Learning System to expand your human resource knowledge and skills and prepare you for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) exam.

Joyce Chastain and Big Bend SHRM Certification Scholarships
Big Bend SHRM supports and encourages HR professionals to demonstrate mastery of the profession by attaining Certification – SHRM-CP and/or SHRM-SCP. To assist with Certification expenses, Joyce Chastain and Big Bend SHRM have established scholarships for eligible individuals.

Big Bend SHRM study group registration is waived for scholarship recipients.
How to Apply
Application deadlines are established 2 times per calendar year, based on dates coinciding with BBSHRM Certification Study Groups, scheduled each Spring and Fall.
Prior to disbursement of scholarship funds, Certification exam registration and taking the exam within the applicable testing period, is required. Passing of Certification exam is not required, although it is expected that each scholarship recipient will diligently prepare for the purpose of passing the exam.
Scholarship recipients are required to register and participate in the BBSHRM Spring or Fall certification study group.
Applications are reviewed and approved by the BBSHRM Executive Board and Certification Chair.
Active BBSHRM Executive Board and Certification Chair are not eligible for scholarships.

Notify Your Chapter - Online FeatureIf you are a local SHRM Chapter member and you need to report your re-certification credit to SHRM, you can login to your online profile and notify your chapter of your certification through your account.
