Executive Board


Suzanne Hudson has over twelve years of Human Resource experience. Suzanne was previously employed at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare where she held several different positions over the course of ten years. While at TMH she held the positions of Administrative Assistant to the Chief HR Officer, Nurse Recruiter, Academic Liaison, and Compensation Analyst. In the Academic Liaison position, Suzanne served on the Lively Health Education Advisory Board where she served as Chair for one year. As of March 2014, she has been employed as the HR Manager at the Institute for Intergovernmental Research. 

Suzanne received her bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, and is currently pursuing an MBA with an HR concentration from Saint Leo University. She earned her PHR certification in January 2009. Suzanne served on the Big Bend SHRM Board of Directors for two years as Secretary. She has also served the Chapter as HR Florida Ambassador and the Community Relations Chair. She has been an active member of the HR Tallahassee committee for several years and served on SHRM Foundation committee and the Workforce Readiness Committee.

Monique Akanbi is currently the Human Resources Manager at FBMC Benefits Management Inc. and has over 10 years of HR experience in the public school and private sector in various roles and disciplines. Monique earned her degree in Public Administration with a specialization in HR in 2012 from Barry University, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in January 2013, and Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification in June 2015. 

In addition, Monique is a Sr. Examiner and Mentor with the Florida Sterling Council Board of Examiners where she visits organizations throughout the state across all industries to assess their leadership system and organizational performance through the National Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence model. Monique has a passion for service and assisting others in their identification of purpose, potential, & professional development through meaningful connections. She is originally from Miami, Florida but has made Tallahassee her home since 2011. Monique has been a member of the Big Bend SHRM Chapter since 2012 and served as the Diversity & Inclusion Chair since 2014.

Lisa Beasley obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Florida State University in 2000. Employed by Rogers, Gunter, Vaughn Insurance since 1993 she has held responsibility in the areas of IT, Facilities Management and major project initiatives along with Human Resources. Lisa holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation and the Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation. Lisa is a member of the National SHRM organization and the local affiliate Big Bend SHRM and participates in The United Way Reading Pals program. Lisa enjoys spending time with her grandsons, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, reading and cooking.

Pamela Gay is currently a Human Resources Risk Manager and Senior Vice President with over 20 years of experience in the private sector.  Employed by Capital City Bank, she is responsible for contributing towards a risk-aware and control-conscious HR culture. 

Pamela obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Florida State University, completed graduate courses in Human Resources Management from Cornell University and earned the Society of Human Resources Management-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification.

Pamela serves as a board member on CareerSource Capital Region and serves as secretary on the executive board and currently serves as Certification Chair for Big Bend SHRM.

Priya Hiraga has over 15 years of Human Resources experience. She is currently the HR Director for Tallahassee Primary Care Associates and has held that role for 8 years. She has previous experience in insurance, engineering, staffing and non-profit areas.

Priya earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Florida State University and currently holds both the SPHR designation and the SHRM-SCP designation. Priya previously served on the Board as the President in 2012 and 2013. She has been an active member of Big Bend SHRM since 2003.

Lizbeth Murphy is the Human Resources Director for the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region and has served in this role since 2012. She has over 10 years of combine experience in the fields of business operations, human resources and leadership. Liz oversees the human resources department which is responsible for staff recruitment and retention, employee and labor relations, diversity and inclusion, administration of employees benefits programs, organizational training and development, salary administration and communication of employment policies and procedures.

As a human resources leader, Liz is most passionate about positive interpersonal relationships in the workplace, performance recognition and employee empowerment. 

Liz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Society for Human Resource Management Certification, SHRM-CP. She has been a member of the National SHRM since 2013 and is an active member for their local chapter Big Bend SHRM. 


Lizbeth Murphy, SHRM-CP



Linda has been in the HR world for nearly 30 years. She joined the Redwire/Sonitrol of Tallahassee team in 1988 as Controller. In this position she handled all accounting functions, policy, personnel and HR matters before being promoted to Vice President – Controller / HR in 1990. She served in this capacity until 2008 when she became the Vice President of HR / Compliance.

Linda has also been active in the community volunteering with organizations including The United Way, The American Heart Association, The Salvation Army, The American Cancer Association and MDA. She was three term President of the National Association of Women in Construction (Tallahassee Chapter) and is a graduate of Dale Carnegie Leadership Training. Linda has also served as a mentor to students graduating with HR Business degrees and has participated in job re-entry preparatory programs for incarcerated populations in the N. Florida area.

She currently serves on the Business Partner Advisory Council for Career Source Capital Region. She is a member of the HR-FL Council. Linda has been an active member of the Society of Human Resource Managers and the Big Bend Society of Human Resource Managers where she has served as a board member and treasurer as well.
