Executive Board


Linda has been in the HR world for nearly 30 years. She joined the Redwire/Sonitrol of Tallahassee team in 1988 as Controller. In this position she handled all accounting functions, policy, personnel and HR matters before being promoted to Vice President – Controller / HR in 1990. She served in this capacity until 2008 when she became the Vice President of HR / Compliance.

Linda has also been active in the community volunteering with organizations including The United Way, The American Heart Association, The Salvation Army, The American Cancer Association and MDA. She was three term President of the National Association of Women in Construction (Tallahassee Chapter) and is a graduate of Dale Carnegie Leadership Training. Linda has also served as a mentor to students graduating with HR Business degrees and has participated in job re-entry preparatory programs for incarcerated populations in the N. Florida area.

She currently serves on the Business Partner Advisory Council for Career Source Capital Region. She is a member of the HR-FL Council. Linda has been an active member of the Society of Human Resource Managers and the Big Bend Society of Human Resource Managers where she has served as a board member and treasurer and is currently serving as President-Elect for 2016.

Suzanne Hudson has over twelve years of Human Resource experience. Suzanne was previously employed at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare where she held several different positions over the course of ten years. While at TMH she held the positions of Administrative Assistant to the Chief HR Officer, Nurse Recruiter, Academic Liaison, and Compensation Analyst. In the Academic Liaison position, Suzanne served on the Lively Health Education Advisory Board where she served as Chair for one year. As of March 2014, she has been employed as the HR Manager at the Institute for Intergovernmental Research. 

Suzanne received her bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, and is currently pursuing an MBA with an HR concentration from Saint Leo University. She earned her PHR certification in January 2009. Suzanne served on the Big Bend SHRM Board of Directors for two years as Secretary. She has also served the Chapter as HR Florida Ambassador and the Community Relations Chair. She has been an active member of the HR Tallahassee committee for several years and served on SHRM Foundation committee and the Workforce Readiness Committee.

Lisa Beasley obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Florida State University in 2000. Employed by Rogers, Gunter, Vaughn Insurance since 1993 she has held responsibility in the areas of IT, Facilities Management and major project initiatives along with Human Resources. Lisa holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation and the Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation. Lisa is a member of the National SHRM organization and the local affiliate Big Bend SHRM and participates in The United Way Reading Pals program. Lisa enjoys spending time with her grandsons, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, reading and cooking.

Jean McCall is currently a Human Resource Generalist with Paychex HR Solutions in Tallahassee, FL. She has over 20 years’ experience working with government contractors, non-profit, civil engineering and the PEO industry providing HR strategic solutions to managers and owners. She earned the SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications in January 2015 and has been a member of Big Bend SHRM since 2012 when she moved to Tallahassee from Jacksonville.

Trish Yahn is currently the Executive Center Senior Career Consultant at CareerSource Capital Region.  She works with professional level career seekers and advises on interviewing, networking, resume writing and more to help them transition to new employment.  She has been a guest speaker at Florida State University, ITT Tech, Flagler College and various community events. 

Trish is a Florida State University graduate with a degree in Business Administration and concentration in Human Resources Management.  Trish spent 22 years in administration and human resources with a manufacturing organization with multiple facilities on the east coast, serving as corporate HR Director for her last 10 years with the organization. 

Trish re-joined Big Bend SHRM in 2014 after a prolonged absence and has been an active volunteer with the Workforce Readiness since renewing her membership.

Monique Akanbi is currently the Human Resources Manager at FBMC Benefits Management Inc. and has over 10 years of HR experience in the public school and private sector in various roles and disciplines. Monique earned her degree in Public Administration with a specialization in HR in 2012 from Barry University, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in January 2013, and Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification in June 2015. 

In addition, Monique is a Sr. Examiner and Mentor with the Florida Sterling Council Board of Examiners where she visits organizations throughout the state across all industries to assess their leadership system and organizational performance through the National Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence model. Monique has a passion for service and assisting others in their identification of purpose, potential, & professional development through meaningful connections. She is originally from Miami, Florida but has made Tallahassee her home since 2011. Monique has been a member of the Big Bend SHRM Chapter since 2012 and served as the Diversity & Inclusion Chair since 2014.

Colene is the President/CEO of Colene Rogers & Associates and a member of the John Maxwell Team as a certified speaker, trainer and coach. She is a Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SCP) and holds her (PHR) Professional Human Resources certification through HRCI. Colene uses her 25 years of combined experience in sales and in Human Resources as Manager, Trainer, Recruiter, Coach and Consultant to work with companies through executive coaching, leadership training, HR consulting and performance management. Colene has spent time in the classroom, boardroom, and on stage working for Walt Disney World, Hyatt Hotels, State of Florida, and both profit and nonprofit organizations.

Colene’s passion is helping individuals & companies reach their full potential through effective leadership and personal development, which ultimately advances organizational goals. Colene is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with degrees in Organizational Communication and Public Speaking. She served as the 2016 President of Big Bend SHRM and was awarded Big Bend SHRM Leader of the Year as well as the 2016 HR Florida State Council President of the Year. Colene is a native Floridian and has called Tallahassee home since 1999, where she lives with her husband and two Florida State University sons, who come home often for dinner.
